I'm a teacher now.Yeap, my student call me lao shi. Anyway, i ain't no a teacher at any school nor any preschool teacher. I'm a tuition teacher, a very inexperience home tutor. But...it's not gonna hold me back despite the fact that this is my very 1st time being a tutor. What attract me most is the pay and I need not spend a single penny on transportation, is because my student stays just 2 doors away from my house. So, why not grab this wonderfully made opportunity to earn my pocket money knowing that i'm seriously broke since my class has ended like 3 months ago.
To be frank, my pay is favorable. Most of the people who heard it agreed that this job is a free job, simply means job that just receive your salary that does not require any of your physical and mental abilities. Even uncle Don, bunny's dad jokingly said i should work for this line as my career. Well, you may think is untrue, but let me explain. Actually all you need is to be a bit sensitive to find out what are the needs of your beloved student, through their conversations with you and the out bringing of themselves, you can catch what a person they are, easily!
My student, 14 this year. I'm not here to insult him or anything, but i have the urge to post something about this problem or should i say issue? I'm not here to boast how excellent or bombastic my english is but is the urge in me that i should speak out.
He has a problem of pronouncing vocabularies, for every word that has more than 2 syllabus, he has difficulties to utter the word. The most saddening thing is that he can't spell apple at this age. actually there are more vocabs that he can't spell or pronounce and even some vocabs which we learn when we were 3, he seems to have problem recalling back. Not to mention his BM.
Actually the main problem is very clear, i suppose you perhaps understand the fundamental problem is not the kid, but the parent. Yes, the basic knowledge or the education since young is essential. We all understand that simple fact. So, if the parents were to condemn their kid for not excelling in their academic, i'm very offended. Why not the parents think about the root of the problem, partly is because of their responsibility of education for their kids. I'm not judging on the general but let's apply the English language as an example. My student can't speak fluently and has low self confident in him. The parents hardly speak english to him, that's why he was being sent to various english learning centre to brush up, but never excel in it. The parents thought that this will be a good idea for them to learn but actually the basic rule of education since young is very important.
But for now, all that can be mended are the efforts in him. He has to think for himself, be hardworking as he should be because i can't be helping him for the rest of his life. I pray that he can understand what i've thought him. I'm planning to have a session of scrabble and pictionary with him, it will be fun i think :)
