HUKM

Just so you know, HUKM is an abbreviation for Hospital University Kebangsaan Malaysia. Being a filial granddaughter, I've accompanied the grandparent and my aunt Melissa to the hospital for check up, grandma check up btw. Why me being the chauffeur? Because, none of the adults are free, either they are occupied with loads of work, or they can't get leave suddenly. So me, being the most available person among all, decided to drive them all the way there. I did something worthwhile tho, after being a slacker for almost 2 months :) Well, I did brought them over like last Friday already, but they were require to arrange an appointment for next week, because they can't just walk to the front desk abruptly wishing to consult the doctor.

Actually this post is not to praise myself for how filial I am, but I really have something to share, the insights of HUKM. Hee...

Okay, so let's start with the grandma. Grandma has been quite ill since the past 1 month, and she's not feeling any better. That actually made all of us worried. She has been rambling, talking about how long can she survive more, and ask us not to cry if she go back to be with the Lord, you get the picture. Deep down in my heart, I know she suffered a lot, and btw, she was a cancer patient, nose cancer, about 20 years back then, and she has fully recovered now. But because of the chemotherapy she went through last time resulted dryness in her body. There's a clog in her ear and nose. She has difficulties in hearing, and she feel giddy all the time. She was complaining maybe is due to her tooth which is aching for past months that infected the giddiness, and what not :S But actually is not, is because of the clog.

The doctor used a 5inches long metal which attaches a vacuum kinda equipment to suck the clog/dirts so to call in her both ear. She didn't clean her ear for almost a year, because her previous ENT doctor consult her not to dig ear for a year until the next check up. So they suck, and its cleared, you wouldn't want to be in that room listening to those machine sucking things which is in a human body right :S Well, those are the internal part, which is out of your sight. But after clearing grandma's ear, they went to her nose. This is where the gross part take place.

Ok, the doctor got the same tool again, but this is with light, a thicker one. You know what is next? He insert it right inside to grandma's nose and everything was screening on the TV!! I was like OMG, i seriously felt for my grandma, I don't know how it felt, but I know it won't feel any good with something being inserted right inside your nose, and not to mention, is a 5inches long metal thing. It was too grossed till I said yer... Grandma's mucus is green in color, as in the pandan green that kind of green color! And its attaching to the deeper organ! Doctor said its all dried up we gotta suck it out. ZommaOMG, the doctor have to insert both the torchlight and the vacuum into her nose at one go... Oh my ohmy, I suddenly felt a cold sweat, my adrenaline rushing way up to the peak oh my head, i feel like fainting and my sight was totally blur. I quickly inform my aunt and i rushed out the room and sat outside. Grandma was so strong, i salute her, seriously. She was so strong that she didn't complaint, didn't cry. I have no idea what if was me, I think I would ask for a anesthetic to skip the pain.

Hmm, have you ever encounter maggots in a hospital?! Haha, I'm not here to destroy the great name of HUKM, it's not because of their uncleanliness that we found maggots. But it was actually a patient who brought it in. So, there was this uncle, who so happened that he consult ENT doctor also, he was supposed to wait in front of room 1 but because outside room 1 is kinda packed and busy so he waited in front pf room 6 which is the inner area. He was in a wheelchair, and I believe the one who push the wheelchair is his son. That wheelchair uncle is very old and ill, and bruises everywhere. When he passed by us, I smelled something weird from him, its ain't no any medication smell, this smell is extraordinary, it smells horrible! We didn't know it was actually from him, until we saw few janitors sweeping one particular spot, and there were few nurses surrounding and pointing here and there claiming "sini, eh sini ade lagi, eh sini larh... " then they walked infront of us, and one of the nurse was holding a container and a pincer picking up things from the floor, at that moment, i saw something yellowish tiny thing rolling on the floor, right then I knew it was maggots! Haha... it was grossed tho, those people who actually saw it were gossiping and gossiping none stop. Gosh, thinking back, maggots on a body?! That uncle must be very ill.

I guess that's all about it for the insights of HUKM, and I'm very sad that I can't join the crowd to Quattro grand launching tonight, because I got a exciting mission tomorrow, I need sufficient rest to maintain myself in good shape.

And i'm praying hard for grandma's health. Wish her strong and healthy after the medications.

It's Friday night, have fun people !
Till we meet again.
